Article 40 of Law 2023-175, concerning parking lots larger than 1500 m², obliges operators to equip them with carports integrating a renewable energy process over at least 50% of their surface. As of July 1, 2026, parking lots not managed under concession or public service delegation, larger than 10,000 m², will all be affected by this article of the APER Law. By July 1, 2028, all other parking lots not managed under concession or public service delegation, between 1500 m² and 10,000 m², must also comply.
Article 43 of Law 2023-175, concerning buildings, obliges operators owning buildings and/or covered parking lots of at least 500 m² to integrate a renewable energy process or vegetation that uses potable water only as a supplement to collected water.
Regulatory compliance enables short-circuit use of green electricity. The APER Law (2023-175) facilitates and encourages various stakeholders to implement collective and individual self-consumption operations in compliance with Articles L.315-1 and L.315-2 of the CCH. As such, self-consumption will allow you to reduce your SCOPE 2 by decreasing your electricity energy bill. The use of renewable energy from photovoltaic sources also provides a positive impact on SCOPE 1 if it replaces the use of fossil fuels (Article 27 of the APER Law).
For 20 years to reduce your dependence on the electricity market while improving parking comfort for customers and employees. Carports, by definition, protect users and their vehicles from sun, rain, and hail. They are also equipped with an LED lighting system, ensuring comfortable brightness.
Self- involves consuming locally the renewable electricity produced by your own photovoltaic installation.
These two models combine perfectly. You can prioritize consuming the electricity produced on your site, then share any surplus production with others.
As soon as it is commissioned, your photovoltaic panels generate electricity that immediately powers your site’s electrical appliances.
This system allows you to significantly reduce your energy bills and decrease your carbon footprint while maintaining total supply security.
Individual self-consumption allows for a (by greatly reducing your dependence on the electricity grid and energy price fluctuations). However, achieving remains a technical and economic challenge for most professional sites:
To maximize your level of autonomy, it is possible to optimize the management of your consumption or combine a battery storage system.
Collective self-consumption is subject to geographical proximity rules between project members:
