A Self-Consumption Project? Let's Talk.

A Question? We Answer It

Self-consumption involves consuming locally the renewable electricity produced by your own photovoltaic installation.

  • Individual self-consumption: The electricity produced on your site is directly injected into your building. It powers your on-site equipment in real-time without passing through the public distribution network.
  • Collective self-consumption: It allows for the exchange and sharing of electricity between one or more production sites and several consumers (buildings in the same activity zone, municipal sites, etc.). The shared energy then uses the public distribution network to be distributed to participants.

Good to know: These two models combine perfectly. You can prioritize consuming the electricity produced on your site, then share any surplus production with others.

As soon as it is commissioned, your photovoltaic panels generate electricity that immediately powers your site’s electrical appliances.

  • During the day / sunny periods: Your site primarily consumes the free solar energy it produces.
  • In case of additional need: If your consumption exceeds the instantaneous production capacity (or at night), the public electricity grid automatically takes over to ensure continuous power supply without interruption.

This system allows you to significantly reduce your energy bills and decrease your carbon footprint while maintaining total supply security.

Individual self-consumption allows for a very significant partial autonomy (by greatly reducing your dependence on the electricity grid and energy price fluctuations). However, achieving 100% autonomy (self-sufficiency) remains a technical and economic challenge for most professional sites:

  • Solar production varies throughout the day and depends on seasons as well as weather conditions.
  • Your electricity needs do not always perfectly coincide with solar production peaks.

To maximize your level of autonomy, it is possible to optimize the management of your consumption or combine a battery storage system.

Collective self-consumption is subject to geographical proximity rules between project members:

  • Standard scope (extended collective self-consumption): The maximum distance between the two furthest participants is set by default at 2 km.
  • Derogations for peri-urban and rural areas:
  • Special case of Fire and Rescue Services (SIS): When a fire station or an SIS establishment participates in the project, the scope is automatically extended to 20 km, without the need for a prior derogation request.
